I'm Pierre, a software developer interested in language learning and building products. Here on Semifluent is where I share thoughts, notes, and lessons learned along the way.

I'm bilingual in English and Chinese, conversational in Thai, and currently learning Japanese (Duolingo score: 27).

I spent nine months of Saturdays in a Thai classroom in my late twenties and came out unable to hold a conversation. That failure bothered me enough that I've been deeply curious about the art and science of second language acquisition ever since.

I also built CashJot, an iPhone app that makes daily expense tracking as easy as it gets.
